The ‘White House’ will exhaust all their options to register both Diarrà and Huntelaar for the team’s Champions League knock-out campaign.

After Real Madrid were personally advised by UEFA president, Michel Platini that they are not allowed to include both Lassana Diarrà and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for the second stage of the Champions League, the club have now decided to take the issue to the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS].

Marca believes that the ‘White House’ will first approach UEFA’s Commission of Contol and if they throw out the case, they will then take it a step further to the governing body’s Committee of Appeal. If that also fails to yield a desired outcome, only then will Madrid take it to CAS.

The club are also aware of the time constraints and that they may not be able to meet the January 31 registration deadline if they go through all three steps. As such, they will only allow UEFA until the 20th to make a decision before turning to their last resort.
