Yousuf challenges Malik

Posted by Faiyaz On November - 29 - 2008

Mohammad Yousuf, famous for his stylish batsmanship, on Tuesday fired verbal volleys onĀ  Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik, saying that his attitude was one of the reasons for him joining the Indian Cricket League.

Reacting to Malik’s charge that Yousuf was not keen on playing for the country and that he was just making excuses for not doing so, the bearded batsman said, “Why would I give an excuse. People who don’t perform give excuses, whereas I have been performing throughout my career. First he should look at his own performance and then level allegations against others.”

The bombing and machine gun attacks in Mumbai demonstrates how terrorism has affected Asian nations hosting sporting tours and places the global future of cricket in jeopardy.

The hard work was done by an electric opening stand of 136 between Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, meaning the others barely had to break sweat.

Krejza debuts with 8

Posted by Faiyaz On November - 7 - 2008

A purposeful, fluent and unbeaten 92 from Simon Katich kept Australia ticking at the end of a day that saw effortless batting on either side of a dramatic bowling spell. India batted smoothly through the morning, and Katich’s 115-run partnership with Michael Hussey gave Australia plenty of breathing room in the late afternoon, but the collapse of five Indian wickets for 19 runs in between was scripted by the day’s unlikeliest hero, Jason Krejza.

PCB minuses Yousuf

Posted by Faiyaz On November - 5 - 2008

ICL snatches arguably the best test batsman of the world. Mohammad Yousuf’s international career is in great danger now. PCB has banned him and he may not play in international cricket ever again unless dispute between ICL and ICC-BCCI is resolved.

“I have decided to sign for ICL,” Yousuf - who will play for Lahore Badshahs - said in New Delhi. “There was a misunderstanding with the ICL. I was misguided and confused and not able to take a decision earlier.”
